SC Solar Builds Uzbekistan’s First PV Module Automated Production Line

Recently, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Nukus to assess the region’s industrial development. President Mirziyoyev first toured a manufacturing plant in Nukus and inspected Uzbekistan’s first PV module automated production line. This project commenced operations this year, with SC Solar providing the turnkey line solution and equipment.

The Nukus PV module automated production line project completed installation by the end of December 2023 and successfully began trial production in mid-January 2024. The Uzbek power company Electro-Engineering Inc. and SC Solar have formed a strategic partnership for this project, investing over $10 million. The line is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 200 MW, producing approximately 273,000 PV modules each year.

President Mirziyoyev extended warm congratulations on the official operation of the PV module automated production line and provided important guidance. This project will not only enhance Uzbekistan’s self-sufficiency in PV module production but also strengthen the country’s competitiveness in the global solar market, marking a significant step forward for Uzbekistan’s solar and renewable energy industry.
