In the lamination process of bifacial photovoltaic modules, the laminate frame is a key tool that ensures uniform thickness of the laminate, reduces lamination bubbles, and improves lamination quality. The use of laminate frames effectively solves the process control challenges of large-format bifacial modules and multi-module lamination. However, the use of laminate frames also brings new challenges to module production—high labor costs, difficult operations, crowded turnover carts occupying lamination areas, inconvenient maintenance of lamination machines, and the risk of frame deformation due to manual handling, increasing the risk of silicone board damage…
To address these issues, SC Solar has developed and launched the Laminate Frame Return Line system, which allows for the simultaneous return of laminate frames from three lamination machines using just one return line.
1. Labor Savings, Cost Reduction
SC Solar’s Laminate Frame Return Line system can fully automate the laminate frame return process:
- A single shift can save 3 operators, reducing labor costs.
- It extends the lifespan of laminate frames and silicone boards, reducing equipment maintenance costs.
- When combined with SC Solar’s steel laminate frames, customers’ overall costs are further reduced.
2. Compact Layout, Space Optimization
SC Solar’s Laminate Frame Return Line system uses one return line shared by three lamination machines, taking up minimal space. The return line frame is set at a height of 1.9 meters, not occupying the maintenance space between the lamination machines, significantly improving space utilization. For workshops with small distances between lamination machines, SC Solar has developed a vertical conveying system for laminate frames, further reducing the required width of the return line to less than 0.8 meters.
3. Modular Design, Flexible Deployment
SC Solar’s Laminate Frame Return Line system can be upgraded based on existing assembly line layouts, without requiring any changes to the workshop layout. For workshops with high-altitude platforms before and after the lamination process, SC Solar has custom-designed a robotic arm that can operate beneath the high-altitude platform, completing the frame handling tasks in narrow spaces. Through modular designs of both the mechanical and electrical systems, the entire return line system can be installed and put into operation within 5 days.
4. High Compatibility, Process Control
SC Solar’s Laminate Frame Return Line system uses a short-side vertical transport method. Within a width variation of ±5mm and a length variation of ±100mm, no mechanical adjustments are needed, significantly reducing mold change time. Additionally, the system integrates frame placement detection, using a vision system to monitor the gap between the laminate frame and the laminate, ensuring that the frame placement meets the requirements. This reduces the risk of module cracking and effectively controls the production process quality, enhancing production stability.
Currently, SC Solar’s Laminate Frame Return Line system is widely used by industry-leading companies, demonstrating SC Solar’s technical strength and industry influence in the field of intelligent photovoltaic module equipment. Adhering to the philosophy of “Make PV Manufacturing as Easy as possible,” SC Solar will continue to promote the application of intelligent manufacturing technologies and support the smart transformation of the photovoltaic industry, making green energy accessible globally.
