SC Solar collaborates with top Italian enterprises to jointly build Europe’s largest solar factory project

In February 2024, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Minister of Economic Development and Made Adolfo Urso, and President of the Region of Sicily Renato Schifani successively visited the industrial zone of Catania, Sicily, and toured the 3Sun Photovoltaic Cell and Module Super Factory. The 3Sun Photovoltaic Factory is under the umbrella of the Enel, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during the visit, expressed the government’s desire to develop the Catania industrial zone into one of the most important photovoltaic module production centers in Europe, enhancing Italy’s competitiveness in the photovoltaic field.

As one of Italy’s key projects, The expansion project of the 3Sun Photovoltaic Factory has a total investment of approximately 600 million euros. Once completed, it will have five production lines with an annual capacity of 600MW, making it the largest photovoltaic module factory in Europe. The project is jointly built by SC Solar and Italy’s top enterprise, aims to fully leverage the strengths of both parties in their respective fields. With efficient management, exquisite craftsmanship, and strict quality control, the goal is to jointly create high-quality engineering projects for the owner. In order to ensure the first-class standard of the project, both parties will strictly adhere to national standards and industry norms. Every step, from design, procurement, construction to acceptance, will be pursued with precision. At the same time, advanced engineering management concepts will be introduced, employing scientific management methods to ensure the project progresses efficiently and smoothly.

According to the EU Solar Strategy (REpower EU), Europe plans to have over 320 GW of solar photovoltaic grid-connected capacity by 2025 and reach 600 GW by 2030. In the July 2023 proposal of Italy’s National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), the MASE stated that by 2030, 40% of Italy’s total energy demand and 65% of electricity generation will come from renewable energy. As one of the top four photovoltaic markets in Europe, Italy is continually investing in large-scale new energy projects, strengthening the renewable energy industry chain, accelerating domestic energy transition, and reducing dependence on energy imports.

Over the years, SC Solar has established a deep-rooted presence in the European market with outstanding product quality, excellent customer service, and a commitment to continuous innovation, earning widespread recognition and a good reputation. To date, we have provided turnkey solutions and related intelligent equipment for photovoltaic module automation production lines to local manufacturers in more than ten European countries, including Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Finland, Portugal, Croatia, Slovenia, among others. Through in-depth collaboration with local enterprises, we are dedicated to promoting technological innovation and industrial development in the European photovoltaic sector.

This collaboration is not only an important milestone in the development of Italian projects but also a new starting point for the mutual advancement of both parties. We believe that, through the joint efforts, the Italian project will undoubtedly become an exemplary model in the photovoltaic module production industry. SC Solar will consistently implement our overseas layout strategy, deepen communication and collaboration with global partners, expand more diversified, customized, and professional solutions, continuously increase investment in technology R&D, create more green value for customers, contribute to global sustainable energy development, and play a role in achieving the dual carbon goals.
