On October 13, 2023, the final of the “Jiangsu Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition” in the field of equipment manufacturing was held in Xuzhou. Twenty-nine teams from universities, research institutions, and high-tech enterprises across the province competed on the spot. After intense competition, the project “Mass Production Process and Equipment Development of Spatial Atomic Layer Deposition” brought by Dr. Yang Xing from SC Solar won the first prize in the equipment manufacturing group.
The theme of this year’s “Jiangsu Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition” was “Self-reliance through Science and Technology, Driven by Innovation and Entrepreneurship.” Since its establishment, the competition has been promoting innovation through the competition and continuously promoting the transformation and application of the results of the competition. It has also been promoting the incubation and landing of high-quality projects, achieving the coordinated docking of projects with local industries, and gradually building a full-chain innovation and entrepreneurship service platform for selection, training, promotion, landing, and cultivation. This platform injects new impetus into the high-quality development of our province’s economy and society.
The project of SC Solar on mass production process and equipment development of spatial atomic layer deposition is based on the technology of spatial atomic layer deposition (SALD). It studies atomic layer deposition technology suitable for electronic transmission layer SnO2 film layer of perovskite solar cells and encapsulation waterproof layer Al2O3 film layer. Combining the verification and testing of the pilot line of perovskite solar cells of SC Solar, the project integrates advantages of resources, complementary advantages of basic research and industrial application research, and develops large-capacity and wide-space atomic deposition film production equipment and processes.
Atomic layer deposition technology has broad application prospects and good economic benefits in the fields of photovoltaics and semiconductors. Currently, the market share of domestically produced ALD equipment is only 2%. In this context, SC Solar actively responds to the national innovation development strategy, aiming to improve the research and development level and production capacity of domestic ALD equipment to meet the growing market demand. In the future, SC Solar will continue to work hard on the road of technological innovation, contributing more innovation and strength to a cleaner and more sustainable energy transformation.
